DescriptionMarc Silvestri and Joe Rubinstein. This cover hangs on my wall, archival matted and framed behind UV protected glass.Way before Avengers vs X-Men (AvX) back in 2012, there was The X-Men vs The Avengers some 25 years earlier. Crazy! To me, this cover was the stand out of that 1987 4 issue limited series. Marc Silvestri's artwork is incredible. I still remember seeing this one on the shelf and being completely blown away by it. The dynamic pose Marc chose of Cap trying to save Wolverine from Titanium Man was burned in my memory. This was almost an eBay win back in the day. It surfaced there, I bid on it. Won. But, it did not meet the reserve. I did not even think to contact the seller. It was put up a second time. Won. I may have been the only bidder this time and it did not meet the reserve, again. This time though, I contacted the seller! This scan is from the artwork under glass. I have a full original art page scan that's much smaller in the additional images. It was scanned prior to getting framed or it may be from the eBay auction from over 20 years ago. Thanks for selling this Albert. Thanks to Marc Silvestri and Joe Rubinstein for creating this prized cover artwork! Social/Sharing |

Awesome cover from a memorable miniseries! It's a prized image of the short run with Cap and Wolverine in a very precarious situation!

A fun cover from a great series on which Silvestri's Buscema influence was still quite present.
