DescriptionJill Thompson wrote Scary Godmother as a story for her nieces and nephews because she wasn't thrilled with the material available to them. Given its success, I think she was correct. Besides the original book and its successors, there are various spinoffs and two films, Scary Godmother: Halloween Spooktakular and Scary_Godmother: The Revenge of Jimmy.I met Jill at Baltimore Comic Con '22 and commissioned her for this cover. Kathy decided to make it a gift so I got my money back from her. :) Jill kept in touch despite many issues in her life and the piece arrived in a reasonable amount of time - communication is important! However, that meant that it joined Kathy's secret stash until November, 20th, our 42nd anniversary. The scene is entirely Jill's though I did do the obvious and pointed out that Sheldon Mayer often did holiday scenes and she had a character that would fit. Hey, I'm no dummy. I think it's delightful. Kathy liked it so much she had me make an 11x17 print on photo paper that we attached to foam core. She uses it as a Halloween decoration. Note:
In the Additional Images, you will see progress shots, the CQA that came with the piece, a photo of Jill with the art (there seems to be a resemblance between SG and Jill), and the paint brush that was used on the art. I am totally delighted by the experience and the results. Social/Sharing |

The COA also deserves to be framed! It looks like a diploma! I like the colors all are within the fall look!

Wow! That's phenomenal! She is such a wonderful watercolorist, and when combined with that terrific line of hers, the result is lively, rich, and wonderful (again!). Congrats Alex (and Kathy)!
