Description

The villain of this segment of the Fables story was Mister Dark, the scary guy filling this DPS as he fills a sack with his victims. This issue was a flashback origin with a guest penciler, so perhaps something of a fill-in issue, but Jim Fern acquitted himself well. Mister Dark is literally the "Big Bad" as he resists a host of mages.

Mr. Dark, the Big Bad was tossing and turning
And this Big Bad was as bad as can be
It scared them out of their wits
Corpses falling to bits!
Couldn’t believe their eyes
Such a nightmare was he!

Fables was generally terrific and this arc was among the very best. That guy was scary!

Just like in Grimm's fairy tales, there has to be a dark and evil being as a lesson to keep the kiddies on the straight and narrow.
