Description

This is a "Dixie Dugan" Sunday drawn by John Striebel from 30 April 1933. I learned of Dixie Dugan through my love of the silent-film star Louise Brooks, who Dixie is based on, and had wanted a Sunday of her when she still had the Brooks bob-cut. Plus, it's got some great figure-work and airplanes! When this turned up, it had what looked like a large, brown coffee stain on it, and, thanks to restorer Tom Tonc, that stain is pretty much gone. I'm happy to add this to my collection after looking for this for 35 years!
