Description

I can't tell you how excited I was to win this quintessential Jon Whitcomb piece at auction! It had previously sold at a 1997 Illustration House auction for which I just happened to have the original catalog and "prices realized" sheet. One of many ads that Whitcomb worked on for Oneida Community Silversmiths. The original gouache painting doesn't include his signature, but it was added photomechanically to the final print ad.

So romantic! A night time cruise where the couple are serenaded by the gentle waves and the bright full moon where all they can think about is being together and living the good life with Oneida products back in their home.
