Description

This was a personal grail and I can't believe I actually found it. When I was a kid I inherited my uncle's comic book collection from the '70s. This story made the greatest impression on me. "Am I Now ... or Have I Ever Been?" It was a crazy vision of the future -- stoned youths wandering the ruins of NYC with strange cubes. The first person Spidey encounters is Deathlok, and he was the coolest thing I had ever seen. Half man, half machine, Deathlok had no illusions of heroism. On this page, Spiderman intervenes to stop Deathlok from killing a bunch of kids -- who turn out to be the real threat.

Anyway, I was playing AD&D on a Tuesday and I was browsing the web and I somehow magically came across an auction for this page ending in 4 days. I was equally surprised when I won the auction despite several other strong bidders.

This was one of the top 3 pieces of art I wanted but never dreamed I'd get. There are still surprises in this hobby.

These early pages of stories in MTU are always cool as the plot demands that the heroes fight amongst themselves before the actual teaming up.

Congrats on getting a grail, it's amazing how some of these pages can transport you back in time and space. Good memories =)
