Description

"Guadalcanal" by Paul S. Newman. April-June 1964.

Japanese supply convoys now travel only on moonless nights and close to the coast to avoid air attack.

Marines on the island, however, are under constant attack. They endure sleepless nights of flares, naval shelling, and occasional bombing by a lone enemy plane.

On the night of September 12, however, shelling becomes more intense. Marines think it's a prelude to a major Japanese assault.

Not only do they endure sleepless nights of flares, naval shelling, and occasional bombing by a lone enemy plane, but to make matters even worse, they also had to put up with that shyster from Brooklyn, Louie the Louse and his protection racket!

Haha! Louie the Louse also had to worry about the yakuza!

Louie Louie, oh no, here you come again , oh no, oh no, oh no, oh no, oh no, oh no,
Louie Louie, oh no, ya gotta go, ya gotta go

A fine little girl, she waits for me
At home way across the sea
She waits by the shore all alone
Now I don’t think I'll make it home

Louie Louie, oh no no no, ya gotta go, ya gotta go, oh no
Louie Louie, oh no, ya gotta go, ya gotta go

Big congratulations to Miki Annamanthadoo, for being the first person on earth to ever crack the code on the lyrics to the Kingsmen classic, Louie Louie!
