Description

First time I met Gene in 2005 at San Diego Comic Con. I was blown away seeing all his beautiful original art pages, especially from the Batman stories I read in my younger days. And on top of that, Gene and his wife Adrienne were just incredibly kind, treating me like a long-lost friend. Every SDCC after that, the Colans always remembered me and wanted to know what I'd been up to in the past year. We also enjoyed some electronic correspondence over the years, mainly via the dearly-departed listserv.
