Description

Posting this artwork to commemorate the New YorK Mets re-signing of first baseman Pete Alonso. This 8-page comic book was given away at the Mets game on August 12, 2021 (with a matching bobblehead given away the next day). I was able to purchase the original ink art to the entire book including the cover (which you can see in this same gallery). This is the blueline ink art by Wayne Faucher based on the pencil artwork of Scot Eaton.

Page 4 features Pete learning he can fly and shoot some kind of blasts from his ice bat. This page features J.D. Davis again and I think the other player is Dominic Smith, although it's hard to say for sure since there's no visible number on his uniform. Most of the faces were redrawn on a different board and replaced for publication. You can see the art updates marked with a 4 (for page 4) on the additional scan, although it looks like there were a few additional faces that weren't used.
