DescriptionI actually picked up a few covers from Chrissie at OAX.My first time meeting her, and she is so nice! Definitely an OAX highlight for me. This cover is right up my alley, and I'm VERY happy to add this fun piece to my Spider-Boy collection. Just a little explanation for the cover image: Last November the theme was variant covers that featured either homage covers with the Thing replacing the original hero, or heroes reimagined as the Thing. This is an example of the second scenario, with the introduction of Spider-Boy-Thing! I love the bird reactions, haha! Social/Sharing |

The birds look like they came out of Cinderella when they can't believe her transformation. Chrissy must be the fairy godmother to make this transformation happen. Zullo-Uminga has the Disneyfied look locked down!

fun cover! the birds are def hilarious. what's up with his "Thing" style hands and feet? I still sadly have not read any Spider-Boy so forgive me if the answer should be obvious. Nice find at OAX, tailor-made for your collection!

It's just a Thing variant cover, not a part of the Spider-Boy mythos. Last November lots of Marvel heroes got reimagined as the ever lovin' blue-eyes Thing on variant covers. Probably because of the upcoming Fantastic Four movie. Hence the Spider-Boy-Thing. Fun, right?

You like the birds' reactions, but I just love how she drewthe birds in general. It feels like we're watching a Saturday morning cartoon!

Haha, yeah, it's a little confusing. Last November the theme was variant covers that featured either homage covers with the Thing replacing the original hero, or heroes reimagined as the Thing. This is an example of the second scenario, with the introduction of Spider-Boy-Thing! :-)

Ah, gotcha! Makes total sense now, thanks for the explanation! And I just saw in my original comment I mistakenly wrote "Man, makes me thing back to a Zullo I almost got." Lol! Must've had Ben Grimm on the brain!

Hahaha, yeah that's a great 'Grimmian slip.' 'Thingian slip?'
