Description

Chris Kohler's recreation of of panel 3 of Alex Raymond's Flash Gordon for 1-22-1939, as the cover for "King" FLASH GORDON #18. In reality King's 1960's FLASH GORDON title only went to #11 before switching to Charlton for the remaining issues which stopped with #18 and then went on a long hiatus prior to resuming publication. King used a couple of Raymond panels as covers in their run, but I always thought they chose less-than-stellar examples, so I am using my "editorial" judgement in requesting recreations of panels I thought more interesting.

Magnificent and lavish! A scene very few people would have actually been able to see in this palacial setting. The luxurious manner of the alien fashion is presented by Raymond and thus Kohler that is influenced by our own exotic cultures.
