DescriptionWonder Woman made her first appearance in the immortal All-Star Comics #8, one of the great Golden Age keys. She has since been depicted in movies and TV series. She is a global citizen and universally recognized for her commitment to justice, peace, and equality and is seen as a model of strength, fairness, and compassion becoming a symbol of empowerment for women and girls in much of the world. And yeah, I realize she's not in Star Wars so relax; you're still my CAF gallery.March hosts both International Women's Day (IWD) and Women's History Month (WHM). IWD is celebrated globally on March 8th, recognizing women's achievements and calling for action towards gender equality. WHM honors the contributions of women to the United States throughout history. So, it seems appropriate that I take this opportunity (a bit late for IWD, but solidly within WHM), to post this page from Wonder Woman #256 (ah, to be back in the summer of 1979). Diana Prince (spoiler - she who is Wonder Woman) works to uncover the motives behind "The Return of the Royal Flush Gang", unaware that her charming co-worker holds a secret - he's part of the very gang she's trying to expose (again, spoiler - they are attempting to steal a guidance system from NASA). Before Batman Beyond "Dead Man's Hand", there was "The Return of the Royal Flush Gang" with Wonder Woman!

This is a great snapshot of classic late 70's storytelling, with José Delbo and Vince Colletta bringing their signature style to Diana Prince’s investigation. Delbo’s clean, expressive linework keeps the storytelling crisp, while, in a shocking twist, Colletta’s inks add a nice touch of elegance. Diana's hair really looks spectacular and is the most immediately prominent thing that catches the eye in all panels!

Woman, I can hardly repress,
My mixed emotion of two fifty six,
After all I'm in Wonder in your deck,
And woman, I will try to express,
Diana feelings and thankfulness,
For showing me the ceiling of the glass,
Ooh, well, well,
Ooh, well, well,
Woman, Delbo you understand
The little child inside the fan,
Please Colletta, my life is in your hands,
And, woman, hold me close to your heart,
With NASA distant don't keep flush in cards,
After all Prince is written in the art,
Ooh, well, well,
Ooh, well, well,
Woman, please let me explain,
I never meant to cause you Delbo insane,
So let me tell you again and again and again,
