Description

I'm a fan of Roberto Castro's art, and always try and find projects for him when possible. This Red Sonja Vs. Conan series was years in the making, and very happy that Roberto was able to draw the interiors and one of the covers.

Red Sonja awakes bloodied and bruised to find she's missed the end of an epic battle. As she pieces together what happened, she discovers that Conan is missing and a local wizard has used bloodroot to create a terrible weapon.

His detailed linework and dynamic composition bring so much energy to the piece, making it a perfect tribute to these two iconic warriors. It’s great to hear how much you appreciate his work and that you’ve helped find projects for him, Nick. His talent really shines through here and I can assure you that Miki is also very happy that you have given Castro so much work!

Handsome Red Sonja/Conan cover by Roberto Castro. Beautifully laid out with a gorgeous drawing of Red Sonja leapiing and swinging a sword and an axe juxtaposed on top of a massive image of a still Conan holding a large sword. The juxtaposition of her action pose and his stillness is striking. Behind Conan is a kind of primitive altar with a skull mounted on the top. It's a striking cover with different elements that hint at a story of action and magic, the perfect combination for a Sword and Sorcery kind of story. Fabulous pick-up, Nick, congrats!
