Description

Cosmic vampire Rune begins a spell of necromancy. I like how the inset panel moves the action along without diminishing the splash aspect of the page. The glare effect from Ivey�s mixture of hatching and deep blacks is pretty cool too. Rune # 7, page 1 (1995).

Great stuff! Malibu's Ultraverse had just as much talent and titles going for it in the mid 90's as all the other imprints that came out of the Image revolution. Saltares and Ivey are big gets from Marvel. You can see they followed the blueprint of BWS from the linework employed.

Totally agree on that panel giving a storytelling element while not taking away from the splashy shot...love those kinds of pages and this one's a great example! Congrats!
