DescriptionAnother great cover by Dominguez. He nails the expressions on both the boy's face and the killer's. I love how the chiaroscuro effects extend to casting a shadow of the action on the back wall.Social/Sharing |

a HoS horror cover banger by Dominguez! the shadow projected onto the wall revealing the full picture of the scene while the boy watches from outside the window really brings the scaryness of this piece to the next level. congrats!

Beautiful - a perfect cover in that it immediately tells a story and makes the viewer want to know more. A full slate of technique on display in the craftsmanship too.

KILL KILL KILL! A thriller from the 70's that brought back the spirit of EC Horror! A classic cinematic shot where the shadows tell us what we need to know. The strain on the face makes you feel all tense as if you were either the strangler or the stranglee!

Wow, what an AWESOME Horror cover! The tension is practically jumping off the page, with Dominguez really capturing those expressions and shadows perfectly. The dramatic contrast between the shadowed and lighted areas is outstanding! I love how the cross-hatching technique adds such depth to the shadow, really pulling you into the scene. It also looks like Dominguez used some sort of paint, maybe gouache, to shade the killer's jacket and the victim’s hand, rather than ink wash. That little touch really makes it come alive and feel more three dimensional. Judging purely on artistic technique and how hard the power of the scene depicted slams the viewer in the face, this is EASILY one of the best pieces posted this week, if not the best. Huge congrats on adding such a striking piece to your collection, Heidjer!
