Opening page to the story "Terror Part 1 - The Blood Bat". A man in a Batman costume enters a creepy-looking house which sits secluded on a small hill. He moves into the bedroom upstairs where he kills an old man using a dagger with a bat-shaped hilt. The murderer is Hugo Strange and his revenge on Batman has begun.

love the vibe of the house/setting in general like it was ripped right out of a House of Mystery or Secrets but for an early 2000s DC audience. Gulacy and Palmiotti make for a great duo on this title splash that feels like the Halloween season escape room or haunted ride at the Gotham amusement park! congrats, great piece!

What an absolutely stunning opening page! That Victorian looking house perched on the rock formation is such a striking visual! Classic Gulacy mood and atmosphere. The isolation of the setting makes it feel so eerie, perfect for a story like this. Huge congrats (or is it Hugo congrats?) on adding this beauty to your collection, Dragon!

Can't get any more gothic romance than this. You don't even need Batman on this to set up the tone of the story. The supernatural feel permeates through every inked in crevice of the rocks and every punishing wave eroding the base of the spooky haunted house.
