DescriptionBlack Canary introduces Snapper Carr to the JSA.Friend: Dinah seems overly happy to see Snapper. Almost romantically. I don’t remember the circumstance. Why the big reaction from her? Other than to give the reader a nice butt shot? Me: This is why I love the page. It's not romantic. She's just really happy to see him and Snapper and the rest of the JSA are like you, "Why is Canary so happy to see this schlub?" It reminds me of how I know a really beautiful celebrity (and knew them before they joined the JSA let's say), and when you see them after a number of months or years, they light up when they see you, and you sit there wondering why they are so happy to see you, but you also kind of know, that's just who they are. They love you, not in any kind of romantic way, but are genuinely happy to see you. Snapper (despite the protestations of [mutual friend], was the JLA's mascot and at least in this series they all had a special connection with him). Also, I might say BC doesn't want there to be any misunderstanding that she holds ANY kind of grudge against the "JLA Super-Traitor!" A kind of unconditional response of non-romantic love. If you will. (I conclude my Ted Talk - semi baring my soul) Social/Sharing |

A grand display of what made Rags so good on Hourman! A full JSA cast does not even faze him and he delivers the mixed reactions on the page very well. You don't know if Canary wants to keep her friends close and enemies even closer by welcoming Snapper back.

Rags was really beginning to improve his pencilling by leaps and bounds at this point in the series. The inking by Meikis also really helped compliment those pencils. It's a GREAT page indeed. Who CAN'T appreciate a moment like the one with Snapper and Black Canary? It's so sweet and genuine!

this is an excellently illustrated page! I like your description of how Canary friend-zoned Snapper, lol (ok, that's harsh, but yea...). It is a sweet moment, and the butt shot is a nice bonus!

Great page from a great series. And the Blisters would have been one of the worst superhero team names ever.
