Fantastic, brilliant, high-contrast work that feels like something out of a 50's horror movie. I'm -positive- we JUST missed a bolt of lightning flash in the distance...! :) I don't know if I'm reading too much into things here, but this feels deliberately unbalanced compositionally, in -exactly- the most perfect of Two-Face ways... Harvey sits on the right side of panel 1, with the large patches of black (the wall and his cast shadow) pulling and holding our gaze. Panel two's goal seems to be to shift the reader's eye back to the right as quickly possible, using the act of flipping the coin (as well as the grated window in the background) to propel it in that direction, through panel 3. Our eye comes to rest comfortably in panel 4, weighed down on the right side of the page again, taking in all the detail of that amazing portrait of Harvey. Then panel five, with that unmistakably Wagnerian hunched, evil figure, off-center to the right, staring to the right, to the source of the word balloon. Matt Wagner was loaded for bear on this one. Glorious and beautiful; masterfully constructed.
