I agree. It occurs to me now that the top right panel is the only one where the camera isn't slanted. That solid architecture is holding the page together while the camera tilts from left to right like a ship listing to its sides.

Tim Sale uses a bit of the European style storytelling as well with the textured wash paints and noir shadows.
