Our friendly neighborhood UPS man delivered a small box containing some art yesterday. Among the pieces was this one by Virgil Finlay, from Thrilling Wonder Stories November 1953, illustrating "The Transposed Man" by Dwight V. Swain.

You wonder how Finlay does it so consistently! All that stippling and reverse negative stippling defines form, contours, and even ghostly images with varying textures from high concentration!
