DescriptionSigned by Grant Morrison.I might not own the cover to #114 any longer, but I have this painful end page from issue #115, where the Prof has to watch Genosha get leveled by an enormous Sentinel, while Jean and Hank watch helplessly. Social/Sharing |

Quitely is firing at an All Star Superman level here - fantastic!

IMO the defining moment for the X-Men in the 21st Century. Not a bad consolation prize at all.

The universe is a cruel, uncaring void. The key to being happy isn't the search for meaning; is to just keep yourself busy with unimportant nonsense, and eventually, you will be dead.

I dub thee, Sir Cheery. Ultimately all existence is futile. Brief blips in eternity. When our sun dies in a few billion years all deluded monuments to ego and all other art will be cinders and dust. For the moment however, comic art is the most important part of and reason for living, as you and I well know and this is a super example.

It's well adapted by the X-Men '97 cartoon series. Since you don't normally read comics, maybe you can at least watch that episode.

I don't read comics anymore as they got too dear for too little. They have words to read too. Big words. Long words. To quote one of the great minds of this era, "Shucks, he looks sadder than a hog at the bacon factory. I sure do like lookin at the purdy pictures. Speakin a which, is that thar a cartoon? Gonna get me a beer and a dog to chaw on and watch them thar moving drawins."

The furrows on Xavier's brow say it all. Quitely depicting angst only as he can. Gorgeous page!

wow, really incredible story moment drafted in Quitely's sparse perfection of linework. this issue did have a great Logan cover, but the content/story impact of this page goes much further

Is Quitely do an homage to "Kilroy was Here" in the third panel?
