DescriptionThe Stern/Byrne Cap era in 1980 with only 9 issues was sadly too-short (and OA pages are hard to find). These two pages (which made a double page spread) are perhaps the two best pages of the 9 issue run, outside of the DPS in #255. Focusing on a flashback to Cap's Silver Age origin, these milestone pages feature the Avengers, Namor, Falcon, Red Skull and Sharon Carter.Bonus! I already own page #4, which ends this scene and will look amazing framed with it's long lost brothers in pages 2 & 3. https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1912973 If you love Cap, I have a weekly Cap comic book podcast where I interview several Cap creators: https://captainamericacomicbookfans.com. Wow....congrats on a fantastic addition to you collection. Byrne's Cap was my favorite growing up.

Nice pickup. I was the underbidder when this was at auction a bit ago...surprised the winner didn't hold it longer...it is that iconic. Great great sequence flashback.

What a pair of pages! Aside from Terry Austin, no one inked Byrne better than Rubinstein; he was on a par with Byrne himself or even better. The Stern/Byrne run is possibly my favourite iteration of Cap, and it is always a treat to see pages from it on CAF. "Look and learn with Stern and Byrne," as someone in the lettercolumn of the time wrote. Yes, indeed. Thank you for posting this fantastic two-page sequence.
