Description

Olivia (Olivia De Berardinis) - "Sophisticated Lady" & "Ladies Night Out" Original Art (1986). For their 1985 and 1986 Holiday Collections, Massachusetts-based lingerie company UndercoverWear, Inc. commissioned noted pin-up artist Olivia De Berardinis (known professionally as "Olivia") to portray their products. In the words of company president Walter James, "[Olivia] has captured for UndercoverWear the styling, mood and feminine feeling that has been UndercoverWear's trademark since our inception." The resulting illustration is a classic Olivia, produced right around the same time she began her longstanding collaboration with Playboy.

This piece depicts Sophisticated Lady ("As today's UndercoverWear woman, you can be a success at everything...home, family, entertainment, career, romance. You are a very special lady - a 'Sophisticated Lady'") and Ladies Night Out ("Whatever you do on your 'Ladies Night Out', UndercoverWear helps to make you look and feel extra special") from the 1986 Holiday Collection. Mixed media on paper. Signed at lower right. Measures 20" x 30", framed to 32" x 42". Not examined outside of frame. Includes 1- 1985 and 1- 1986 Holiday Collection catalog.

Even in casual wear, they still have the 80's shoulderpads look for some sharp points to the sleet straightline fashion!
