DescriptionGALACTUS DOMINUS! …COSMIC-NUFF SAIDWhat I find interesting is if you observe Fantastic Four 257 cover within my collection. It becomes clear that John Byrne drew inspiration from this cover. For although 257 is purely the head of Galactus, the idea of Galactus being the central theme and floating heads around him looking at him came from this cover where we get his complete image. As in so many Galactus covers..in a way very much the way Doom often appears. Galactus is typically presented center stage as he should be as when he appears he IS the be all and end all..as such the focus and the theme is on him…and all that is the power cosmic. I have always seen Galactus as representative of the ultimate cosmic threat, the ultimate test of nature on a larger scale to test everything one is..become greater, face what is greater flee fight or become something greater ourselves.. Become cosmic… Social/Sharing |

Galactus, floating FF heads in space, and the cosmos make for an epic Fantastic Four cover! Amazing!

Galactus dominates the Marvel cosmic genre and this cover! Bubbleheads were part of the logo for this era and this is the only time we see them dropped down into the actual artwork.

What a 'Fantastic' observation about the bubble heads consistent in the logos...except for this one, aptly utilized in the art...and that in the logos they are each looking straight forward..except here, those heads have totall veered their attention.. turned directly towards Big G.

Galactus is widely known for being a bit of a grump. What the h-e-double-toothpicks does he know? This is a spine-shaking cover by one my of favorite childhood artists. It makes me weak in the knees.
Now, I'm pretty sure I've got that cosmically powered Surfboard tucked away in my bedroom closet behind the bit of Kryptonite I've been saving for a special occasion...

Exactly! I've owned this one for a while and with the movie coming I let the art show up before the movie..and regardless of how the movie is the Galactus presented here will always be what we know as Galactus

Epic cover. Don't mess with Big G! This is a cool link between the 70s and 80s, with Pollard doing the cover but Byrne doing the interior.
