Somehow this is a Jackson Guice commission that Dave Karlen has never posted in his CAF. There are so many great commissions.

In one of the few short e-mail exchanges I had with him, I told Butch that he captured what I liked most about BC and GA as a couple.

RIP Butch Guice. Such a great artist.

Black Canary was created by Robert Kanigher and Carmine Infantino.

What a fantastic piece. And I especially love the expressions on both of their faces. I was so saddened to hear of his passing. RIP Butch.

That is as good a depiction of the interplay between Ollie and Dinah as I have ever seen, and considering the other artists who have worked on them that is really saying something. It is a sad time for Butch’s family, friends, and many fans.
