DescriptionThis opening page to Skybound & Image Comics Transformers #11 sees the nature loving pacifist Beachcomber start up his motorized surf board to head out on a recon mission to figure out what horrors are happening to the ocean due to Shockwave's master plan. Organic matter from Earth is being sucked up and converted into Energon, something that absolutely horrifies the Minibot Beachcomber.I've talked about this already via CAF posts, YouTube videos and well, to just about anyone who will listen, but when this series introduced Beachcomber to the cast of characters he instantly became my favorite as his perspective is quite unique. He is an Autobot who fell in love with the beauties of Earth years ago and is horrified to see the Transformers bring their war and destruction to the planet. He has vowed to no longer raise a weapon to fight, but still manages to find ways to contribute & help his friends (and is even civil to some Decepticons as well). As for the art itself, Jorge Corona shines when he draws natural elements, here in the form of the ocean waves & sea life as they are sucked up and swept away. I also love that you get the surfer vibes from Beachcomber as he powers up his board, tests the water and catches a wave. You also get a panel in the lower left that reminds us of the stakes, showing the space bridge that has been opened & the energy beam connecting Earth & Cybertron. Man...i love this series. Perfect mix of nostalgia, masterful, emotional storytelling & beautiful art. Social/Sharing |

Surf's up! I've been watching this big wave surfing documentary called "The 100 Foot Wave" on HBO/Max streaming. Beachcomber would be blowing those guys away!

If everybody had an ocan, across the USA, then everybody'd be surfin' like Californ-i-a! And Beachcomber, obviously. Another great page for the collection!

Oh yeah, baby! Surfing with the Alien! Joe Satriani would be proud!
