DescriptionEd McGuinness has been a machine in the comics industry for nearly three decades now and I regretted not having something from him. Situation resolved!Avengers X-Sanction wasn't a particularly memorable mini - Cable made his return to the Marvel Universe and immediately started picking off Avengers for...reasons. As usual, Ed elevated the material through his bombastic art. In issue 1 it was Cap getting his bell rung. Issue 2 was Iron Man's turn to feel the pain - as evidenced in the underwater tussle depicted here. Social/Sharing |

Cable vs Iron Man underwater on a big bold DPS like this is a helluva way to get your McGuiness collection started! awesome image, congrats!

Nightswimming deserves some Dexter Vines
The autograph on the artwork, pages here’s double
Inked around Ed’s work so the forcefield shows
Every streetlight reveals his structure is adverse
Still, it's so much armor
I forgot my shirt at water’s edge
The moon is low tonight
Nightswimming deserves a quiet fight
Avengers’ all that Cable understands
It's not like years ago
The fear of drawing Stark
Of McGuinness’ in water
They can now elevate it
These inks, they blow away

Happy to see this one again. Especially in your care. I traded it to a friend who eventually decided to sell it. So glad you were able to check the McGuinness box with this. It's a great DPS. Love the way Ed was able to "fit" Cable's right arm in the frame by hiding it in the shadows.

A great pick up and glad you able to add a McGuinness piece with sweet Vines inks. I was a big fan of this four issue mini but it was mostly because of the art and seeing all these characters on the same page. It was some great fan service in that regard and gave McGuinness an excuse to redesign Cable and draw some fun battles we wouldn't get otherwise.

Agreed that the only point of interest on that mini was Ed's (great) art. That dps is quite full of tension before Cable lands his punch.

Further testament to the true talent of McGuinness, but get a load of these Dexter Vines inks! Just gorgeous and makes for a stellar DPS. Big congrats and great to know that Iron Man is the clear winner of this battle.
