DescriptionPublication unknownMay have been done for the Invasion mini series and crossovers. Gil'Dishpan and Khund warrior The Gil'Dispan were a methane breathing race of aliens that came from a gas giant in the ellipitical galaxy. They first appeared in Legion of Super-Heroes 307 (1984). The political position of the species was neutral at all times and in fact served as frequent meditators of dispute between sentient races. This primarily stemmed from their disinterest in oxygen/nitrogen biospheres. A leading diplomat of the Gil'Dishpan was involved in negotiations to resolve the dispute between the Khunds and United Planets. An outlawed Gil'Dispan was a member of the Legion of Super-Villains. The Khunds are a warlike race that have been at odds with the United Planets. They first appeared in Adventure Comics 346 (1966). The Khund Empire were ruthless in their conquests and referred to all planets that they conquer as "mud worlds". Once conquered, the inhabitants of these planets were enslaved and forced to assist in their own genocide. During this time, the Khunds plundered the resources of the world and burnt entire cities to the ground. They believed that individuals should look after themselves and according to their tradition this trait passed to those under their stewardship. They briefly allied with the UP when Mordru tried to conquer the galaxy. Four superpowered Khunds joined the Legion during this period: Firefist, a cyborg; his wife Veilmist, a teleporter; Blood Claw, who possesses indestructible claws; and Flederweb, a winged bounty hunter. I like the Khund warrior illustration. As for the other one, was it an actor on those 80's commercials talking about dishpan hands from washing the dishes without using their dishwashing soap?

I've got every disease known to fans
From the oxygen pumps to Gil'Dispan gas
I got every race they ever planned
I never even got the art
Legion tell you now, one thing I do know I'll tell you right now
There's too many wrinkles in this Khund man's brow
And I'm getting my desire, tried to draw it all out
Oh gonna jump and buy the art
So you think you got troubles
The more designed the worse conquest
So you think the world don't love you now
Well brother you ain't heard Giffen yet

I have always wondered who Gil Dishpan was, and what he meant to Giffen or Levitz.

Gil'Dishpan looks like an old school telephone I once used to own in the late 90s.

These guys always make me think of Invasion, since they were 2 of the 5 Invading Species.
