Description

This is a hilarious two-page sequence where we see Howard The Duck has been pretending to be The Spectacular Spider-Duck for over a week.

Spider-Boy sees right through his masquerade, asking "How do you even know there IS a Spider-Duck? ... and that this isn't just Howard The Duck in a spider suit, mooching off all of your free food?"

Next panel -- Howard The Duck (still eating!) is being punted out the door by Arana.

And then we get a great homage to that iconic splash page from Amazing Spider-Man #50. "Spider-Duck no more!"

Arana asks how Madame Web could not have known that was Howard The Duck, to which she replies: "I know the important stuff. Also, my blood sugar's been really low. I think I need a Coke or something."

Hahaha!

With that silliness out of the way, it's time to get back to Spider-Boy's problem.

Spider-Boy repeats how Arana's spell to bring him back didn't work all the way. Arana recounts how she successfully revived all of the spiders who had been cut from the Great Web: Jessica Drew, Peter Parker, Kaine ... And they were fine. "And then YOU showed up."

All this is referring to the now classic Spider-Man #7. That last panel is a recreation of the splash page from that issue where Spider-Boy appeared for the very first time.

Thanks for looking. More to come!!

NOTE: Nate's process involves doing the pencils on one board, and then copying the pencils to another board for inking. I was lucky enough to get both boards for every page of this 17-page story.

the amusing hijinx of the Web Footed Wonder the Spectacular Spider-Duck needs it's own standalone one shot now at the very least!!!

Well, given that there are now 500 Spider characters running around the Marvel Universe and they rarely use Howard the Duck anyway, they may as well give him a new origin, something very unique and original (like Howard gets bitten by a radioactive spider!) and make him the 501st!

If you can doubt that there's a Spider-Duck, you can doubt the existance of Spider-Boy.  Then the entire network of Spiders across the spiderverse will collapse.  Better just to accept and still ignore the madame web, Morbius, and Kraven movies
