DescriptionAn exceptional page of 1980 Dick Giordano art, this is the original art to The Brave and The Bold # 166, page 15! This one has it all; great action, classic Giordano poses, a major villain (Penguin) and Black Canary in her underwear. Plus, the crisp, beautiful inks of former Giordano assistant, Terry Austin. An iconic Batman page!Social/Sharing |

Those Austin inks make a big difference. I think Giordano was doing great Neal Adams Batman poses here with the fluid motion and power packed punches!

Two of the great inkers (/artists) unusually collaborating on a page makes for GREAT content.

DG must love that Batman pose in the 2nd panel, he's drawn it lots of times. Always thought it was interesting that he would swipe Adams.

Good action page. It's too bad Dinah doesn't have any super-powers that still work when her hands are restrained.

A friend commented elsewhere that although Penguin took off her clothes, he left on her blonde wig.

Good observation! However, I can think of 2 reasons the Penguin may have left her wig on--1) all he needed was the costume since the imposter already had naturally blonde hair and 2) Penguin didn't know it was a wig.
