DescriptionGreg Hildebrandt - Darth Vader Funeral Pyre Mask Painting Original Art (2021). The Brothers Hildebrandt, Greg and Tim, helped shape the look of Star Wars through their iconic 1977 poster art that emphasized the film's grand, mythological scale. Darth Vader's funeral pyre at the end of Return of the Jedi was an emotional conclusion to the Original Trilogy, and in 2015's The Force Awakens Vader's own grandson, Kylo Ren, speaks directly to the half-melted mask that was salvaged from the flames. This helmet has been through so much and the lore deepens with the many projects since that have fleshed out Anakin / Vader's journey to his redemption in ROTJ.
