DescriptionJames Harren - Ultramega #6 p 32Friends Report Friends! Thank you, Klaas, for letting this go. I believe James Harren will go down as the most influential American comic book artist of his generation, and it seems that Ultramega will become his defining work. Not only does this page feature every component of his signature style (moody fog inks above a character, zip tone, speed lines, wrinkly clothes, etc) but it’s also with those looser and more expressive strokes that he’s employed more recently. What I love most though is how we are able to see more of the process by taking off his revisions. Whereas we never get to see what was erased, it appears that James isn’t afraid to completely redo something. I even believe that he has been writing some of this on the fly as he is drawing, evidenced by the panel where he added in the robot details into the building. Check out the additional images for those details. 11x17 on art board; Image Comics Social/Sharing |

I always worry I'm going to ruin the paper, but I do it for great people like you!

Great Harren page and awesome of Klaas! Also, love seeing the original idea for the last panel to what he went with.
