Description

Alex Schomburg returns to one of his signature characters -- the Golden Age Human Torch (Jim Hammond) -- in this Bronze Age revival, which also stands as the only comic book work he produced after 1951 and one of the very few interior stories he ever illustrated! And who knows how many of those interior pages even survived? Even if they did, you'd be hard-pressed to find one as unique as this splash page, which kicks off a six-page chapter in the Annual with a stunning full-body rendering of the Torch arriving at a military hospital in search of the villain known as the Hyena, before reporting back to his Invaders teammates, Captain America and Namor the Sub-Mariner. If you're holding out for a better Schomburg interior, good luck!
