DescriptionTyrell is a terrific artist from Chicago. I wasn't sure what to expect, except that he's known for these inky, sweeping, chunky, beefy, and hyper-effective pieces. When he revealed this to me at NYCC, I was stunned. The main focus is classic Tyrell. Strong well well-inked, prominent characters. Then he stuns you with the powerful "X" background, cutting the composition into two smaller segments. I think the kiss is so beautiful, and its ethereal nature almost makes it look like a memory. Then you've got the homage to the X-Cutioner song at the bottom. It's a tremendous piece. Any of the smaller compositions would have made a perfect piece unto themselves. Tyrell is also one of the nicest, coolest dudes! You've got to check out Beef Bros, Eris, and his X-tober book!Social/Sharing |
