The Paper Man - Pg. 30 - str. 90-92 (1982)

Pivotal story sequence from a seminal Manara work, in which the Sioux maiden, White Rabbit sheds her chains to show Heavenly Earth that she had always been in control of everything. Both Paper Man and Indian Summer are visual testimony that Manara could have certainly made a career of illustrating frontier comics, much like Girard's masterpiece, Blueberry. The beauty of the wide open spaces of the American West come to life in this beautiful tale of love and tragedy. However, Manara would continue to evolve in his storytelling interests and become the master of comic erotica, achieving world wide fame and notoriety. But wow...I can't help but wish his heart remained in the American West and we had more examples like The Paper Man. It would have been one hell of a ride.
