DescriptionSquirrel alert!I still see squirrels all the time but have learned, and developed some level of discipline and don’t chase them nearly as much as I used to (it was essentially my collecting approach in the beginning of this hobby). That said, I still grab squirrels from time to time. I saw this while talking to Ryan Benjamin at Heroes Con 2025 (big thanks to Yoshi and Ryan!) about a possible commission and had to pick it up as it really impressed me. I love the bold inks, finishing effects, and the clearly evident Jim Lee influence in the piece. I would have grabbed a print as well, had there been one. PS – I also got a commission from Ryan … stay tuned for that as my next CAF posting (hint – it won’t be hard to predict what it is ;) Social/Sharing |

While I love your Larkin tribute theme, it's about time you started a new one. And this is a great original idea. The Hulk wearing Batman's cowl. Brilliant. And it's probably the only one of its kind on CAF.

Well ... you just spoiled the whole series Eric! I was going to do 50 pieces and then reveal that all the batman's were really Hulks in disguise.
Time to find a new theme ... again!

Man oh man, I'm really taken by this piece! I really love the look and feel of it. So many creative inking effects that produces a scratchy, yet totally finished, feel. Whether it's Batman, or the Hulk in Batman's cowl, he looks great! :-) But seriously, this is extremely cool, congrats!

It's a very cool Batman headshot with a full array of techniques out of that Ryan Benjamin Wildstorm style of art!

Squirrels make this hobby interesting. I really like this one and can't wait to see the commission.

Agreed - you can't stop squirrels, you only hope to contain them!

Nice Batman by Benjamin! I def see the Jim Lee influence like you pointed out. It's nice to mix it up once in awhile, squirrels are fun in moderation!

Definitely Lee vibes but still all Ryan. Liking all the meticulous hatch-y line work. Congrats!
