Description

As IC3 was wrapping up, a friend by the name of George told me there was a portfolio that I needed to check out, and boy was he right on the money! I headed over to Hans' table and was immediately drawn to the art style, wonderful detail, and otherwordly concept. This piece was used in a preview video for Hans Rickheit's long running book, Cochlea & Eustachia which you can view above (1:50 mark).

In regards to the art itself, the inks are gorgeous and again there is so much detail packed into this crazy structure. I'm not about to attempt to explain what the structure is, but that's the beauty of what Hans does. There is so much imagination and time put into his drawings that the end result is truly one of a kind.

Big thanks goes out Hans for this piece! It was an absolute pleasure to meet him at IC3 this past year.

Surrealist cross-section of organic and mechanical design of the inner workings like that of a clock. Rickheit has us pondering if this is God's design or man's.
