Descriptioni got to meet Darwyn a couple of times. First time he agreed to sketch in my book if i came back to the DC booth later. i showed up and waited and i was told he was doing interviews offsite. that was when New Frontier was either not out yet or coming out.Second time was when Parker was coming out. i waited HOURS to be the first in line at his signing. i handed him my DC book and he took out his art supplies. everyone in line behind me pulled out thier sketchbooks. He saw what was happening and gave me back my DC sketchbook right away. he did a cool remarque in the parker book though. problem was it wasn't for me. i was getting it for a friend who loved the original novels and loved darwyn cooke's work. i always watched Albert Moy's page for new darwyn art and was waiting for a good flash or green lantern but one never popped up. when i heard he had passed i went to the site and bought the only thing i could really afford. i liked the before watchmen stuff alot so i wasn't sad with this at all. when the WATCHMEN show came out on HBO Hooded Justice was my favorite part of the show. so i feel like i ended up getting more than what i originally got. i don't think anotoher talent like Darwyn has come since. as much as i miss his art, i know his friends miss him more. Cannot remember much now about that Hooded Justice episode of the Watchmen tv show but at the time I thought it was very special. I need to see it again. So congrats on scoring this. I was a latecomer to appreciating Darwyn’s art; it looked too old school but when I “got” it after reading Parker I was all-in so I am super-envious you got to meet him not once but twice. I am coming around to thinking that if I had a choice between meeting a creator-hero of mine or getting a drawing by them without meeting them I would go for the former. You did the double. Respect.
