Description

To all intents and purposes I stopped caring for superhero art quite a few years ago.

Yet I will occasionally find myself unable to resist the allure of a serendipitous blast from the past.

I was a late but enthusiastic reader of Mark Millar's Ultimates two decades ago. And to this day I think that Brian Hitch and the late Paul Neary were a match made in heaven for this series.

Plus: Thor beating the shit out of Loki never gets old, does it?

The issue was cover-dated February 2007 but came out in May. I assume the artwork was created in late 2006.

So many of Millar's ideas came through on the big screen that it's hard to his and Hitch's impact and contribution to what has fueled popular culture for close to 2 decades.
