DescriptionThis jam commission has taken a long and winding road toward completion and has spanned a significant portion of my original art collecting journey, with the final piece being completed at Heroes Con 2025.It started as a convention pickup from Herb Trimpe (main/primary image) that I wanted to use to make a jam with other artists adding their version of Hulk around the main figure. As best I can remember, the additions began in 2010, or possibly earlier, and included several convention stops, and a mail aways (some of the other details are lost to time and faded memory lol). The last addition at the 2025 show was to have Lee Weeks ink his own penciled Hulk head. When I handed the piece to him, he paused, studied the image, and asked if I were OK with him changing a few things on the piece when he inked it. His question surprised me, but I readily said yes, of course, you are the artist! He went to explain the he draws the Hulk differently now and wanted to make a couple small updates which made sense, especially considering the 15 years between his hands touching the page. This is when I realized exactly how long it had been (I would have guessed maybe half that amount of time had passed without seeing the dates on the page). I hope the piece does justice to the memory of Herb Trimpe, who was a legend as an artist and one of the kindest individuals and most enjoyable visits when attending cons (he was always an early, first-day stop for me). It also serves as a stark difference in how I collected early and how I collect presently lots of commissions in those early days has been significantly reduced and replaced by a more focused approach on published art. Artist credits, starting at the top (12:00) and moving clockwise: Lee Weeks pencil and ink David Finch- pencil, Jonathan Glapion ink Ed McGuinness pencil, Dexter Vines ink Dale Keown pencil, Joe Weems ink Jon Buran pencil, Joe Weems ink Humberto Ramos pencil, Joe Weems - ink Social/Sharing |

Nice! Only fitting that the iconic Trimpe Hulk be front and center. You were able to get a Keown and a McGuinness, so that' two of the big ones. A Gary Frank, a Byrne, and a Buscema would have been nice, but all the headshots are great. Congrats on a fun and special piece.

Love the story of the journey of this piece. Very fitting to have it completed by Lee, 15 years after he first put pencil to the page.

Tremendous Hulk jam piece with some heavy hitters (and some great artists too! ha). A lot of effort and memories along the way for the piece to look to it's current form, and very interesting about Weeks adjusting his original pencils when he inked it. All these other guys did great surrounding Trimpe's core full Hulk. Great piece and art collecting journey!
