DescriptionSheriff Mardin might just be a first - a Green Lantern who suffers from air sickness when she uses the ring to fly. Here is a GL who would rather help people without using the ring's power, but when needed, she taps as little of it as is necessary.This page and the other page I have from this story do a nice job of wrapping things up. While I never regularly read Coyote or Animal Man (two of the three titles Truog might most be known for) I really like his style. His art fits this story perfectly. I bought this from veteran inker Joe Giella via eBay in the late 1990s, during my first years as a OCA collector. I bought it as a 2fer with the other Truog page I have from this story. I hadn't posted it here because it's been in a frame for almost as long as I've had it. Yesterday, I put a different comic page in that frame and snapped this picture. It's a really nice showcase for Truog as GLC Quarterly was an anothology of short stories and a try out for concepts and stories they didn't risk putting in the main title. This is highly detailed and the childern's theme made this more fantasy illustration.
