DescriptionIf you can’t have (afford) a Watchmen page, a Dave Gibbons page of your favorite character will have to do . . . and inked by one of the best, no less! Here, Hal battles The Shark (not to be confused with King Shark), who can breathe in water and on land, has super strength, flies by psyonically levitating himself (sure, why not), and instill severe fear in his victims . . . which is what he does here by “suckin’ GL’s mind right outta his skull” in a great story written by the late, great Len Wein. This is page 2 from Green Lantern 176, May of 1984 - FORTY. ONE. YEARS. OLD! Social/Sharing |

The Shark is then King Shark, Tiger Shark, and thus Stingray adjacent. Did you want a Watchmen page? Gibbon's art in GL is actually less rigid because he didn't have to meet Alan Moore's scripting standards. You got to see the 2000AD and Doctor Who sci-fi side of his page design creativity here.

Good point on Gibbons layouts. (I dont think Stingray would last two minuets against The Shark.)

Dave did great work on the Green Lantern, Doc. Wbo, etc. Congrats on getting such a beautifully designed and illustrated page.

Great minds think alike, which is why I was underbidder on this fatnastic piece...which I think indicates both admiration and envy. Congrats! At least I know it went to the right collector.

A great page by "Watchmen Guy" (Gibbons is still waiting for that trademark to clear, might have a battle with DC on his hands!) and Giordano! many congratulations on the HA victory.
