Description18" x 12.75" image area. Ink and ink wash over graphite on Bristol board. Creepy #14 page 2 PIECE BY PIECE story (Warren, 1967). Joe Orlando. This near-complete horror tale, missing only the first page of the eight-page story, presents a Frankenstein's monster story with a unique twist. In this chilling narrative, Hurklos, the Igor-like assistant, is mistreated by both the villagers and the mad scientist Dr. Ravencroft. Seeking revenge, Hurklos devises a cunning plan to select the finest specimens for the monster's creation -- reserving his own brain as the final piece. Once transformed into the monster, he embarks on a vengeful killing spree, only to find himself drawn to the graveyard where his body parts originated. In a hauntingly poetic conclusion, the monster appears to grapple with a deep, primal connection to his patchwork origins, as though his borrowed pieces are calling him home. Social/Sharing |

I don't know if you need page one if the set up puts us right in the action! The face of the undead is now so much more ghoulish and unsettling than what we had been used to with the Karloff look.

This story lives up to the title of the magazine it was published in! congrats on landing the nearly completed story from a 60s issue of Creepy, it's a good one!

A really fun story! I gotta say though, I'd almost rather only have half the pages, rather than 7 out of 8 and be so close yet so far from completing it!

Then it really would be 'piece by piece'!
