DescriptionOriginally titled "Batman Secret Origin," this story was later officially titled "The Man Who Falls."Classic story "The Man Who Falls" written by Dennis O'Neil and illustrated by Dick Giordano. This 16 page story builds on elements from Bill Finger's 2 page origin story first presented in Detective Comics #33 (November, 1939), Batman #47 (July, 1948), "Year One" by Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli, "The Untold Legend of the Batman" by Len Wein, John Byrne, and Jim Aparo, and other classic Batman stories. Christopher Nolan acknowledged that this story served as direct inspiration for his 2005 Batman Begins movie with Christian Bale. Originally published in the Secret Origins of the World's Greatest Super-Heroes book from 1989. The story was later reprinted in the Batman Begins movie adaptation TPB in 2005 and was also published as a mini comic that was included with the Batman Begins DVD set. One of my favorite stories retelling the origin of Batman. Social/Sharing |

You forgot to credit Bob Kane and Sid Greene. The fear in Bruce's face is so strong that you'd forget that this was a Batman story.

For a page without Batman, it's ALL Batman. Perfect.

Iconic origin re-telling for Bruce/Batman by O'Neil and Giordano! Completely clearly inspiration for the same scene in Batman Begins as you pointed out which adds even further to it's significance. Amazing addition man, congrats!
