DescriptionPublished 2015Features Groot and the Silver Surfer. For the published version, the Groot body was lengthened with additional art and photoshop magic. Written by Brian Michael Bendis. Groot and the Silver Surfer team up to rescue an alien space ship with a million life forms in it. The issue has a total of four lines of dialogue. The first two are midway in the issue by two aliens in alien language, and is a running joke in the series: "last to hit him buys lunch" "I like a lobster roll" The other two are on the last page of issue between Groot and the Silver Surfer: "We were too late, weren't we? I'm sorry, old friend" "I am Groot" Social/Sharing |

We sail through Bendis skies
Stars shine like eyes
Attract tight thighs
The Groot and Silver team
Flow down like tears
Light up the lines
The Earth, a Marvel place
Of Surfer's haze
In orbit always
While down below the trees
Bathed in Groot leaves
Silver starlight breaks down so bright
And so we pass on by the Norrin flight
Of great Groot art
As we Bengal in universe

So I only know Groot from the movies and it's weird that he seems to be about the same size as Surfer..but I am sure that's part of the story. Would have been amazing to see the artist tackle this with a giant Groot. Congrats on a cool pick up. Especially loving the Surfer pose and renders.

So just read your description and looked at the extra image. Now it makes more sense.

So I just heard of Bengal for the very first time this past week, and now all the Bengal art is coming out of the woodwork! I like what they did with the Photoshop magic and I especially like the last two lines of dialogue. Thanks for sharing that, Miki!

I mulled getting this one myself! There's sublimeness to the simplicity. Well, simple in terms of not a ton of pure artwork but not simple in how still impacts regardless. "Less is more". Congrats!
