DescriptionA fantastic ink and paint synopsis of the Cinderella story by Hank Porter. This illustration depicting ten major scenes of the groundbreaking film Cinderella in sequence. Rendered masterfully in gouache on a large 24" x 17" illustration board. Revitalizing the Disney Company after its wartime films in the 1940s, Cinderella met with explosive box office success, securing Disney as the greatest animation studio in the world in the 1950s. Created for a magazine promoting the release of the film, this painting captures the story in its entirety, although i have seen an archive of several other Porter individual paintings that would fit in this sequence perfectly. Mary Blair painted many more canvases for this film. but i don't think i would trade mine for anyone of hers as she does not capture the finished look of the characters as seen on the screen. - I would appreciate any information as to what publication it appeared as my collection concentrates before 1950.Social/Sharing |
