Well it�s been a while since I�ve posted, some life events and other hobbies have consumed the majority of my time at the moment. But I figured the spooky month of October and receiving a commission recently (due to time payments) would be the best time to return.

Swamp Thing by Mike Allred.

During the last comic art live, I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to commission one of the greatest artists/cartoonists in comics. The prompt I gave was Swamp Thing traveling through the Green. Not only do I enjoy Mike�s art style but his story telling/movement through his art, so I felt this would be fitting. But wow, he never disappoints huh? The level of detail I was not expecting. Along with Laura�s colors, it just adds the depth and layering to Mike�s inks.

Attached are my reference images that I put together, that I sent to Simon. I was hoping Mike would incorporate the Parliament of Trees somehow and I�m glad to see he got that sense of what I was looking for. The presence of their disapproving eyes watching Swamp Thing travel within the Green.

A challenge to get the different hues and tones of green consistent throughout. The Allred's interpretation of the Perkins gets to he core of the character and the Ram V story. A piece that would have made it into a final issue gallery to celebrate the journey if it was double sized.
