Wow! Unbelievably Cool! This splash by Alfredo Alcala looks like a hundred-year old steel engraving ny a master artistisan. Alcala's masrterful drawing skills and intricate inkwork exudes an aura of a another time and place. He's an extraordinary talent working at an extremely high level. Marvelous pick-up, congrats!

Thanks, Bill! Interesting that you say that. You may or may not know this, but Alcala (like Bernie Wrightson) was highly influenced by Franklin Booth. As a child, Booth mistook the steel engravings common in the publications of the time for drawings, and taught himself to draw in that style (what Alcala called the "etching" style). : )
