DescriptionOriginal preliminary cover art for Voltron #2 and #3, drawn by Alex Ross.This single concept sheet contains two distinct early cover designs — Ross’ first-pass compositions for the Dynamite series. Each prelim shows his process in real time: the layout, structure, energy balance, and narrative decisions that would ultimately shape the final painted covers. The left-hand prelim explores a dramatic low-angle perspective with the lions charging, while the right-hand concept focuses on the pilots and Voltron’s completed form, radiating upward power. Notations on the piece (“swap”) reflect Ross refining which direction the series’ visual identity should take.
