Description

Thought I'd try the Mystery Sketch Card tier during Comic Art Live 12 back in November, and glad I did. My request was for my traditional "Star Wars - artist's choice." I do enjoy the minimal direction the first time around with an artist, or in this case a blind pull. With so many eras and corners of the expanded universe now, always fun to see which way the artist draws inspiration. Joe nailed this to a T, or maybe to a big A, for Anakin. Thanks to Joe and Tatianna for this one!

No more champagne
Death Star fireworks are through
Here we scar, me and you
Feeling Darth and feeling blue
It's the end of mystery
And the drawing Weems so great
So unlike yesterday
Now's the time for us to pay...

Happy new year
Happy new year
May we all Force a vision now and then
Of a world where every neighbor is old Ben
Happy new year
Happy new year
May we all have New Hopes, our will to try
If we don't we might as well lay down and die
To Jedis

Sweet mystery sketch card! Joe packed in a good amount of detail in the battle damaged helmet into the exposed aspects of Anakin's face. Out of so much to choose from within the Star Wars universe, the pull of Vader and the dark side is still strong!

So glad you like it,  Joe had a great time doing it for you! He initially was going just Vader but then decided to do the split helmet to see Anakin

Evocative of some heightened confrontations between former pupils and masters.

Can't help but wonder, what if their were 299 more Sith Lords and they all wore minimal armor and were all oiled up and had great abs. And I should of definitely checked on the condition of the rye bread I just ate.

Incredible work from Weems, particularly in making the helmet properly fit the face.
